Man held over stabbing in front of train passengers

The man suffered life-threatening injuries as he travelled on a train. He is in a critical but stable condition in hospital, police said. The train was travelling between Shortlands and London Victoria. The incident is being investigated by British Transport Police (BTP) BTP said high-visibility patrols would continue on the rail network.

Two men were seen in an altercation while entering a train at Shortlands station. BTP said it had also recovered a knife from the scene. A local school initiated its lockdown procedure as a precaution. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
